Evolution of Windows Icons

My Role: Made all 3D icons and animations

A personal project showing how Windows desktop icons have evolved from its first major release in 1985 to its most recent updates. The video begins with the simple black 32x32 pixel illustrations from Windows 1.x, and progresses through memorable releases such as Windows Vista’s shiny effects and drop shadows, Windows XP’s “Bliss” desktop background, the “Live Tile” icons from Windows 8’s major UI redesign, and the current return to low detail, flat cartoon icons in Windows 11.
